    The version here is a rewrite of most of the code. While it provides (almost) all features found in SG 1.5, the configuration is not entirely compatible.

  • eAccelerator – eAccelerator is a free open-source PHP accelerator & optimizer. It increases the performance of PHP scripts by caching them in their compiled state, so that the overhead of compiling is almost completely eliminated. It also optimizes scripts to speed up their execution. eAccelerator typically reduces server load and increases the speed of your PHP code by 1-10 times.
  • Server World – Build Network Server – This site explains how to build home server connected to internet with static IP address. You need to get at least one static IP address from your ISP. Please make sure the terms of use from your ISP, and Get one or some IP addresses if possibles. It's possible to build a network server, not with static IP address but with dynamic IP address by using Dynamic DNS, though. But I don't recommend it because there are some limits. It's the best to get at least one static IP address in order to build a network server, there is no limit. To get one static IP address is not so high costs. It's easy to build network server at your home.

If you are a current RVC user, you can update to the latest version by using the "gem" utility. For those of you who are not familiar with RVC, it is console UI for vCenter Server and ESX(i) host and it provides a way to interact with your vSphere infrastructure like the vSphere Client but using a console shell. RVC can be installed on a Windows, Linux or Mac OSX system and it's built on RbVmomi which is an open source Ruby library/bindings to the vSphere API.

Sure, Google Analytics is a wonderful package for looking at trends over time, but there’s a delay of a few hours there, and you really can’t see data like requests per second or total bytes.

    This is where the apachetop utility comes in. It’s a very simple command line utility that you can use to monitor traffic real-time. It accomplishes this by parsing the apache logfiles and displaying meaningful output to the screen.

    In sum, I’m running Varnish as a front-end to Nginx which is running WordPress loaded with the W3-Total-Cache plugin. The W3-Total-Cache plugin is configured to use both memcached as well as Amazon S3 as its CDN. All of this sits on Ubuntu Linux with Linode as my host.

  • Squid kerberos authentication and ldap authorization in Active Directory « Klaubert’s Blog – The squid web cache include a authenticator for kerberos, it is simple to use, but the documentation is not very clear about how to make it work. Below some steps use by me to make Squid 3.0 Stable1 and Squid 2.6 Stable17 authenticate against Active Directory (Windows 2003 Directory Service) and also to make it make the authorization using Ldap. This setup was not used in production environment yet, so its possible to had some problems not seen by me or scalabilities issues.
  • active directory – Getting Squid to authenticate with kerberos and Windows 2008/2003/7/XP – Server Fault – This is setup with Squid 3.0, has also been tested with Squid 3.1 and should work with Squid 2.7. Your Windows user must be a member of the SQUID_USERS group in Active Directory (for this case anyway).

    On the Windows side, Windows XP and Windows 2007 have been tested against Windows 2008, and Windows XP against Windows 2003.
